Cold meat lights no fire” and other wisdom

I stumbled upon a brilliant blog: surrealist and other beautiful games, a collection of bizarre and deliciously absurd memes. I just participated in its “proverb for today”: a game in which you come up with a new proverb. Mine: “No one never wept with mud in their eye”.

(Reading these triggered my memory of the of the following “classic blunders” and made me giggle (whoever guesses where this quote comes from gets a cookie): “…‘Never get involved in a land war in Asia’, but only slightly less well known is this: ‘Never go in against a Sicilian, when death is on the line!‘”)
